-.

Were you there the night that Kelly's Kids almost beat France??

The score was very close 11 - 10 to France.

The French team scored a converted try on fulltime.

The evenings program

The match had plenty of biff....Mad Mick Alchin was sent off and I think the punch thrown in the scrum ( please note in picture a very young Knuckles trying to look innocent) may have been thrown by Nev Knuckles Hornery.

The French team were over here for the 1968 World Cup. They played Australia in the final and 11 players from that team played at Lidcombe against a very young West's side.

Before the main game there were two earlier games the Presidents Cup Final and the S.G. Ball Final.

If you have any memories of that night or photos or anything please email me as I am trying to do a story about the night we saw "the stars play under the stars....
